Montblanc Award to Ciriaco Offeddu
On 7 November 2014, in Nuoro, Sardinia, at the historic library of the Istituto Regionale Etnografico (ISRE), the third edition of the Montblanc Awards ceremony took place. The awards promote artistic and professional excellence from Nuoro, showcase the best examples and practices at an international level and encourage art and culture. Ciriaco Offeddu was nominated, together with the painter Vincenzo Satta, by a jury composed of the mayor of Nuoro, Alessandro Bianchi, the president of the ISRE, Bruno Murgia, and the General Manager of the ISRE, Paolo Piquereddu. The AD of Montblanc Italy, Gianluca Borghi, presented the prize.
The ceremony was part of the three-day event “Magie d’Inverno” organised by the Gioielleria Rosas 1945 with the support of seventy of the major companies in the province and the best luxury brands in the world. This biannual occasion is particularly important as a sign of a new spirit of pride, despite the complicated situation due to the economic crisis. The old building of the civic market, completely refurbished, was the splendid location for this cultural and commercial event. The presence of great artists inspired many shows, presentations, lectures, etc.
I would like to extend particular thanks to Fabio Rosas, the creator and the organiser of the event, for using all his expertise and passion to make this splendid occasion possible.
