Paolo is a painter, cartoonist and illustrator who attended the State Institute for Applied Art in Trento. In 1988 Paolo had his first solo exhibition at Castello di Stenico (TN), to which many more followed: in Austria, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Turkey, Iran, France, etc. Since 1990, Paolo has obtained numerous first prizes and awards in humorous graphic competitions in Italy and abroad: in Belgrade (Serbia), Beijing (China), Kaliningrad (Russia), Antalya (Turkey), Damasco (Syria), Surgut (Siberia), Olen (Belgium), Bangalore (India), to name a few.
The pencil is for Paolo the most suitable tool to describe objects in sharp details and to transmit, more realistically, his idea of graphic humor. His images have been influenced by surrealism, from which they have drawn their provocative strength and fascination. Paolo’s creations have the need to communicate, albeit in a different way, and this ‘visual exchange’ triggers both doubt and smile in the viewer.
