If I realize that four years have already flown away since my first day in Asia, I can not avoid smiling: right now, I don’t know yet how long it could take to get the entire picture of the Asian culture, but trying to go deeper and deeper inside this understanding I’m learning that it’s simply-far…
Each time Mr “Time” knocks on the door asking me the report of what it has been done and what is not, I feel pleased… doesn’t matter how amazing it was, how nice it is and how challenging it will be… to figure it out is the goal…
– The dream, the project, the goal.
… that’s what we did, from our base in Shanghai: we organized and managed a wonderful classical music tour with one of the most famous Italian chamber orchestra [in 50 years more than 5000 concerts in more than 80 countries], I Solisti Veneti as the “leading actor”. Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shanghai with their most beautiful concert halls in Asia were the scene (Hong Kong City Hall, Guangzhou Opera House, Shanghai Oriental Art Centre).
As sometimes happens in movies when the director also acts, I was involved not only as managing director, but also as a classical guitarist: great experience and nice success. Really amazing to see so many people coming to watch us and enjoy the freshness of our proposal. We finally brought the Italian cultural heritage around Asia, looking for implementing the international high level of artistic and cultural activities, first step to create a mirror of our great cultural heritage, especially in the classical music field.
No secret ingredient, only sharing what we have and what we are.
Let’s do it again!
He began his studies with Nico Ruffato, before going to the Cesare Pollini Conservatory, Padua, where he studied under Paolo Muggia. He received his diploma at the A. Steffani Conservatory, Castelfranco Veneto (TV), under the guidance of Stefano Viola.
He then furthered his guitar technique for four years at the Francisco Tàrrega Academy of Guitar Interpretation, Pordenone, with Stefano Viola and Paolo Pegoraro.
He also attended several masterclasses held by internationally-renowned artists such as Alvaro Pierri, Carlo Marchione, Rèmi Boucher, the Gruber-Maklar duo, David Russel and Manuel Barrueco.
Since 1998 Riccardo Tamai has performed in concert halls in Italy and abroad, as well as in international festivals (Veneto, Friuli Venezia-Giulia, Croatia, Ukraine – The Kiev Philharmonic concert hall and China).
He shared his love and passion for music by teaching classical guitar to students in Italy from 2004 to 2009 at a number of public music schools.
In the summers of 2009 and 2010 he was awarded a diploma with merit from the prestigious Chigiana Academy Siena, in the class held by Oscar Ghiglia.
As student and admirer of Master Stefano Grondona, one of the greatest modern musicians, Riccardo Tamai perfected his technique in concert performance.
Since Autumn 2009, he has gained considerable experience abroad, giving concerts and teaching classes in the United States, Europe (Spain, Austria, Switzerland, France) and Asia (Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Taipei).
In Spring 2013 he played as special guest soloist with the internationally renowned Italian chamber orchestra “I Solisti Veneti” in a tour that covered the most attractive concert halls in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shanghai.
