The Galtellì Literary Prize: the finalists and an article by La Donna Sarda
The literary week in Galtellì, from 19 to 24 October 2015, is likely to become a pivotal event for Sardinian culture’s exposition. The presence of the international members of the jury, the finalists and a number of passionate guests – an incredible fan of writers from several parts of the world – , the particular and catching location, and the intensive programme are the catalysts of a growing interest among widely differing circles. And I’m not only mentioning strictly cultural groups, but also universities, municipalities, touristic and commercial bodies, and various stakeholders. Many topics are on the table: students’ and faculty’s exchanges between universities and institutes, modules for teaching & training, meetings, workshops and conferences, masters, books, new forms of promotion, new cultural events in Asia, and of course the 2016 edition of The Galtellì Literary Prize (several interesting ideas are in the pipeline). Maybe I forgot some issues, I’m sorry, but, anyway, the week of October is becoming the springboard for widespread and fruitful projects – and this is a further achievement. Galtellì is working very hard to organise everything with the usual professionalism and enthusiasm, and also Nuoro and the other villages that will be visited are very keen to meet and host the precious delegation. As for me, I’m working towards supporting a Sardinian outward and forward cultural strategy and enriching the appointment of October by using as many components of our heritage as we can. So, no more words: book your flight and join us. Sardinia is different!
